I had the pleasure of finally meeting BabyMayMoon Thursday night while I was in Los Angeles. I tell you this was a date a long time in the comming.

Negs famously chronicled the evenings adventures here . I suggest y'all click through and read it. MAKE HASTE!! GO NOW!!!

I have to say I had a fantastic evening of Persian food and Hookah smoking. The atmosphere outlined for me was relaxed and groovy. Negs was nothing less than a courteous and attentive hostess......and damn that girl is funny.

Memphis Week 2 Day 1.

last week was uneventful but I did do some fun things.

Mesquite Chop House, and Flying Saucer are always good Digs.

Saturday I saw my first Professional Tennis Match . http://www.rmkchampionships.com/1/home/
I saw Soderling beat Stephanek in singles. Soderling beat Roddick the day before to some suprise.
I also saw a doubles match with 2 thai twins playing some brazilian kids. Fun to watch...

I also saw my first Roller Derby.http://www.memphisrollerderby.com/ .
The Legions of Zoom lost to the Woman of Mass Destruction.... Awesome... I was invited to the after party but I had to decline as the only scantilly clad woman in roller skates I want in my close proximity is CiaoBella...

My mom was accepted to USC ... but had to pass becuase of financial issues, and my sister in her oven.

My Grandma (mom's mom) went to the Business School at USC.

My Great Grand Dad (Mom's Mom's Dad...) got his law degree from USC.....

My Mom cried on the phone today when I told her that for the next week I will be teaching at USC. Faculty not students... but still.... Carrying on the tradition.....

And by the way.... I have a hotel room in Mid Town LA across the street from the campus in case anyone is interested in tearing it up...

Which suprised me why a bunch of us business travelers where seated in the same area as a Wedding Party.

I have..... when I was a kid....

And this week..... I tell you the stench of Testosterone was thick..... Thick like a C programmers pasty ass....

This week was the first time I have had a class completely comprised of Men in years....

8 of 'em in a tight cramped space dueling for Alpha Superiority.......

Typically that is not a problem. But 4 of these guys were Oracle DBA's for a 14B/yr Financial Services Corporation. More specifically they were the top 4 from an IT team of 2000 employees.

Again not a real problem. But DBA's especially Oracle DBA's are some of the most precise and concise people in the world. Typically that is in and of it's self not an issue, but when you include those underlying traits with the existing superiority of their positions at their workplace, well....

Thats the recipe for let's fuck with the instructor.

I can banter well with super villians, and if this was no more than witty banter then I would have been great.

But every day after lunch...around 2....when they were cranky and wanted their bottles and their bellies rubbed; they would play a game called "Let's send the instructor in 50 different directions, and wait for him to mix metaphors. "

Which happens a lot to be honest, but Alpha DBA's are impatient tooo.

The basic end result was 3 days of training where the afternoons were spent arguing with a couple of bitches who were obviously jealous that they weren't me....

From FM 119 you can take a right on 287 north out of Dumas Texas.

The 287 intersects with the 54 in Steadford Texas. Take a right out of Steadford on the 54.

Follow the 54 out to Texohoma Oklahoma. Take that wierd side road that intersects with the FM 119.

Before you hit the 119 your back in Texas, but the 119 will take you back to Dumas where you started.

Total Distance around 117 miles.

Total travel time around 2 hours.
